Simon Robinson is the founder of the São Paulo-based Holonomics Education and Consulting, and co-author of Holonomics: Business Where People and Planet Matter. In the 1990s Simon was a co-founder of Genie Internet, the award-winning first mobile phone portal for the internet, where as Head of Music and Games he developed partnerships with global entertainment companies including MTV, EMI, Endemol and Big Brother. Simon began his career at BT Laboratories (British Telecom) in ergonomics and human factors, responsible for the user interfaces and the customer experience of fixed and mobile consumer products. In 1996 he became the Business Development Manager of BT Cellnet (now O2) responsible for smart phones, working on the first mobile phone with java technology, along with Nortel, and helping to develop global standards for internet and mobile phones. He has been responsible for guiding and developing the new media strategies of many household name companies in the entertainment industry such as MTV, EMI, Endemol, Big Brother, Electronic Arts, The Walt Disney Company, Sky and Mirror Group. Maria Moraes Robinson is an economist and consultant in strategy, change management and the Balanced Scorecard methodology. She started her career in 1994 in finance at BankBoston and Lloyd’s Bank. As a business consultant she helped to introduce Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton’s Balanced Scorecard methodology into Brazil across many sectors including telecoms, technology, petrochemicals, steel, energy, transportation and education. Maria's current work is focused on developing innovative new business courses which integrate the teachings and philosophy of Schumacher College, human values in education, and insights from complexity science with business strategy, change management, process and organisational redesign. She has been responsible for the Strategy Execution Summit, the most important annual event of its kind in Latin America, and the Community of Strategic Management, where executives from many different industries meet to discuss business practices, strategies and methodologies. Maria is a teacher and lecturer, and is the co-author of Holonomics: Business Where People and Planet Matter, Strategy Management: Experiences and Lessons of Brazilian Companies and The Strategic Activist. |
